2016 ACCESS for ELLs Test Coordinator Training Workshops

ACCESS for ELLs Test Coordinator Training Workshops

The Department will conduct three half-day workshops on September 30 (Holyoke), October 3 (Devens) and October 28 (Brockton), from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., as well as a virtual training via conference call on October 18 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m..

Workshops are intended for district- and school-level test coordinators who will organize the administration of the online and/or paper-based ACCESS for ELLs assessments for English language learner (ELL) students in grades K through 12, and provide support and assistance to ACCESS test administrators and technology coordinators. Test coordinators will review the processes for ordering test materials, setting up testing schedules, creating sessions and tickets, and monitoring test administrator certifications, as well as reviewing the features of and preparation to administer the ACCESS tests.  Upon registration, participants will be required to select one workshop to attend.

All participants attending a face-to-face training should bring a laptop or tablet to the session in order to view the WIDA Secure Portal and WIDA Assessment Management System (AMS), as well as sample tests and other test administration resources. Participants must have created a WIDA personal account before attending the session. Workshops will be limited to 75 participants in Holyoke and 250 participants in both Devens and Brockton, as well as 250 phone lines for the virtual training, with no more than 2 participants per district, unless the district has been otherwise notified. Once the two-person limit has been reached, registration will not longer be available for that district and the district will not longer be visible in the registration dropdown menu. In this case, please contact your District Test Coordinator for follow-up information and materials.
