Embed a Form

Creating an embedded form for your website or blog can be done in minutes using SurveyGizmo. This is all done using our standard embeddable survey functionality – so whether it’s a contact form, a poll, or an online questionnaire, we’ve made it simple to add it to your website.

We currently offer a variety of ways to embed forms into websites of all shapes and sizes. We’ve designed our forms to be standards-based, which offers you as much flexibility as possible – they work well with WordPress, Joomla, Drupal, and straight HTML websites.

Ways to Embed a Form on Your Website

SurveyGizmo offers 3 different ways to embed a form into your website or blog, so no matter what type of website you have, embedding a form should be a simple and quick process. The options are:

1. JavaScript Form Embed – This is our favorite option. By plugging in just a few simple lines of code, your website users will be able to interact with your form straight from your website or blog. This option works with most websites and outputs the survey the best.
2. iFrame Form Embed – Because a few websites don’t always play nicely with JavaScript (and because some users disable Javascript on their browsers), the Javascript Form Embed isn’t always an option. For users that cannot use JavaScript, but still want to embed a form in their websites, SurveyGizmo offers another option: the iFrame Form Embed. Like the Javascript form embed, this option allows users to complete the entire form (or take the entire survey) without leaving the original website.
3. HTML Form Embed – Lastly, the HTML Form Embed option embeds the actual HTML of the first page of the form or survey directly into a website. Since most forms are fairly short, this option usually works very well. If you’re attempting to embed an entire survey, however, it changes things a little bit: if a survey has more than one page, using the HTML Form Embed option will allow users to complete the first page of the survey on your website, then take them to the SurveyGizmo website to complete the rest of the survey. In other words, it’s similar to clicking the survey link directly.
