When using the CSV export option:
Version 1: Multiple choice answers displayed vertically, as additional rows

The question title and the first response seem to get merged in the headers:

“Date Format Order these choices according to your preferred date format for the date Friday Decembe:2007-12-07″

That string has the question title, question description (truncated), colon, first response - all blended together. I don’t think the question description needs to be included.

The question title should either prefix every response or should head an otherwise empty column in the exported data. Or just export two header rows, with the second row used for the question responses.

Hi Tom,

That’s exactly what Version 2 does. We are phasing out Version 1. However when we removed it completely — a few customers asked us to put it back for the rest of 2007.

OK, great. (My recollection was that version 2, which I tried first, was quite a bit more different than just what I discussed above.)

I’d recommend hyperlinking from each option to a pop-up window showing a sample of the format.

Hi, Tom.

Good idea! I will add it to our list.

Thanks for taking the time to write.

I am using R to read my data after exporting it as a csv. Having TWO rows containing header information is seriously taxing my R skills. I have never encountered a format where there are two header rows. Can you point me to a URL where one can be taught about reading data from csv files where there are two header rows.
