I saw this mentioned in another part of the forum and thought I’d add it to the Feature Requests parts. Like others, I would find it very useful to be able to copy an entire page.

The current method of copying and moving questions is relatively time-consuming, not only in terms of creating a new page but in creating similar questions for use on another page. It would be nice if one could copy a question then move to where it should be located and paste it. Another survey package has up and down arrows next to each question, allowing the user to bump questions up and down without having to go to a page just for reordering. An alternative might be to allow the addition of a new page while on the reordering page.

I can’t even imagine the programming needed to add features like this, so I’m just going to cross my fingers!

Hi Lizzie,
We are in the process of developing a page copying feature. It’s currently in the testing phases and if all goes well it should be released on Wednesday.

We’re also looking into better ways of reordering questions/pages, but at the moment it’s not an area we’re concentrating in.

Hope this helps,
Chad

I want to second the feeling of the original poster. I just signed up and after entering 4 questions and moving on to the second page I have already hit the same basic coping/moving individual question issues.

Moving questions on a page and between pages is basic functionality that should already be here. Quite frankly, I am surprised that cut and paste are not present in this capacity. Being that this isn’t an area you are currently concentrating in may I suggest that you reevaluate your current position. Cut and Paste are basic editor functions that are underrepresented in your product and detract greatly from an initially strong impression of the operation.

After re-reading my post I realized it sounds like I am complaining that cut/paste functionality is completely missing. It is not, you simply have to go to a different page to do it. I, like the original poster expected it to be integrated into the main question/page edit/entry form.

Sorry about that.

Bryan, you will be happy to note that page copying is now live. We still are looking into other methods for reordering, but as with page copying, we are doing some backend updates to make any possible future changes easier. Thanks for your input!

Hi Mario:

I want to report the first bug on the page copying feature :)

When you copy a page, the “Page Introduction Text” is not copied over. It appears blank in the copy.

Hi Tkiyak,
Sorry about the delay, just wanted to let you know we’ve reported this bug and the developers should have it resolved in the next patch.

Hope this helps,
Chad

Greetings!

I am trying to copy and paste and it is not working.  I just want to copy one question and paste it on another page.  I found the copy button, but where is the paste button?

Thank you,

Summer

Hi Summer,

All you need to do is push the copy button, and then the question you want to copy will automatically be put at the bottom of the page that you're working on.  No need to paste.  Then once you have the question copied, if you want to move it to another page all you need to do is click the “Reorder Questions” link at the top of the editing page, and you can drag and drop the question to whichever page you need.

Hope that helps!

Cheers,
Brittany

I'd like to request that when you copy a whole page, all of the original page and question data is copied over. Currently you lose the logic and piping when you copy.  I am constantly having to go back to the original page and copy and paste the page's piping logic and re-set the simple page jumping for individual questions.

Thanks!

Hey, Tammy!

When you copy a page, questions and actions on that page all get assigned new ID's, new Option Sku's and more. Currently, copying over thigns like page jumps and especially piping from one to another would be more problematic than simply ignoring them.

We have hopes to make future improvements to this in our next version of SurveyGizmo, and thanks for your suggestions.

I need to cpy a page from a survey onto another separate survey. Is there a way to do that? I know  how to copy pages within a survey, but since I don't see a paste button anywhere  i  was wondering hoe I can copy from survey tpo survey.

Pages can't be copied between surveys. You can (all paid accounts) copy the questions from that page however to your question library, then add them from the library to your second survey.
