Hi,

Just saw this post. Please please, add this feature. Would make my week, seriously. Printing out the surveys for review by my upper management has been difficult, especially for multiple column matrix style surveys. However, we really love the features in your product over other survey tools out there.

Thank you,

Christy

At the risk of sounding like a broken record – any progress on the ability to PDF surveys for printing?? I notice the many recent upgrades – wonderful stuff – but the PDF would be such a welcome /benficial upgrades….
thanks

Getting there.

Last week we added PDF versions for individual responses. Today we added PDF (and MS Word) versions of our reports.

Next will be the surveys themselves!

Did anything come of this?  I'd love to be able to save my survey as a pdf so that I can print it out if need be.  My survey is wider than a standard sized-paper width, so I can't quite print it out the way I want it to be (any advice on this?).

I wondered if a pdf of the survey would have pages that are just as they appear in the survey online.

Or will I have to redo that part of the survey to fit into a standard paper's width?

I changed my survey width to 1600px if that helps.

Thanks in advance!

Not as of yet, though we did some improvements to the print stylesheet for printing just the HTML version. We are undergoing major redesign and improvements for surveygizmo version 2, and we have upgraded the PDF tool we use to make this possible (previously it would have been difficult if not impossible). So, it's definitely an option, and I would recommend dropping the suggestion to us from within your account by clicking on SUGGESTIONS in the top right and filling out the quick survey. Those suggestions are read directly by the developers.

I'm also posting it here in case others read this and wish to add the suggestion and state this is a priority for them, they can submit it as well (the more demand, the higher the feature goes on 'the list').

Hello all!

I am in the process of choosing an online software and was interested firstly in the pdf feature everyone is asking about, but also and maybe more urgently about the offline survey feature/option. Does this mean that the survey can be administered on a computer, off-line, and then uploaded to the site for summary, analysis etc? Also, is this a common feature of other online survey tools (ie survey monkey)?

I am somewhat new to the online survey scene so any help in this is greatly appeciated. Thanks!!!

Hi, Kristen.

SurveyGizmo is an online, self-service survey tool. This means you create your survey online and then people can take the survey online. Everything is done via the Internet.

There is no offline version of our software.

Once you create a survey in your account, You can download a copy of your survey into a Word document that you can look at offline. With the Word version, you can print it out and fill out the survey, but you still have to open the survey online and input the answers into the online survey.

We have upgraded the quality of the Word version of your survey that you can print out,  but the PDF version is not available at this time.

Thanks for your interest in SurveyGizmo!

Hello Cheri- thanks for the promt responses.

I guess my main issue is that I need to administer the survey in a place with unreliable internet access. Does this mean that in order to do this, I need to give a pen and paper version of the survey and then input the answers manually online if the internet connection goes down? Or is there another way? Also, is it possible in general (surveygizmo or other) to input directly into a digital copy offline and then upload results or is it that this technology just does not exist.

Thanks again for all your help in this!

Hi, Kristen.

Our tool is entirely Internet based and the surveys are completed online. There may be some survey tools out there that are computer based that you could do what you are talking about here. Sorry I don't know of any.

I want to take the survey and be able to use it and modify it in a simple word document off line… How can I do that?

Here's the thing: I gave them the option of “other” and then they could specify so there are tons of responses with one word each and I don't want to include them – I just want the general trends. So how can I either get rid of those answers before creating the report, or be able to save the report to my computer and then alter the Word doc. HELP please.

But can I take this online Word copy of the survey and save it to my desktop so I can manipulate it and place it on the pages where I want, delete extraneous info etc?

Hey, Leslie!

Unfortunately, there is no way to “drop” random data from an report unless you filter it out, though you can easily export the results to an Excel sheet and then sort by collumns to see similar results from the “Other” field.

Once you export a word document or other report or form of your survey, that is the information that we give you. We have no further control over the survey if you are editing a word document version of your survey or results. If you do want, say, a blank version of your survey in a nice format to modify and use on paper, you can go to your survey's published web page, and save an HTML version of each page on your computer, then modify the html in these files and print out copies of the modified survey.

I hope this helps!

At the danger of repeating everyone else -Is the ability to create a printable/PDF version of surveys likely to be happening any time soon?

We're about to embark on a large scale project and this feature may be something important enough for us to have to consider going to a different online survey tool than surveygizmo ( even though I'd prefer not to!)

Any hope in sight?

We're more than happy to hear your feedback. We're pretty democratic about adding features, the more voices, the higher it gets pushed up. I wish I had a date for you, but we are still trying to wrap-up version 2.0 and the final feature set for the first release (the .0 part) hasn't been cemented. We do still have the 'Print Survey' option on Edit Survey and the 'Export Questions to Word' option under the Publish tab in the interim.

I realize that this feature is critical for you, but I hope you understand ,we prefer honesty over an empty promise.
