Hi,

Something for the future…

It would be 'extremely' handy if you could reorder questions and pages within the Question Editor as well as make basic changes, e.g. to the labels and prepopulate fields with default text or [%%piping statements %%]. More in keeping with the Web 2.0 movement. It is quite cumbersome to have to start a whole new process off each time you want to make these minor changes.

Keep up the good work ;)

Hello again, Cranialscratch!

Under the “Edit Survey” tab there is a link labeled “Reorder Questions” which brings you to a page where you can easily reorder questions or even entire pages in a click-and-drag environment.

Our piping options allow you to auto-fill any text-type field with a basic default value or a piped answer from a previous page's question. Text Boxes (essay) have a large text box under in the advanced options page to set the default value while Text Fields (one-line text fields) let you choose the default or piped value under the “Advanced Formatting” section's “Default Value” setting.

Don't forget, you can also mix plain text and piped options/values in a text field if you like, and you can place the merge codes for piped values just about anywhere.

Happy Surveying!

Hi Jonathan,

Are you OK? You're not reading the posts this evening (evening where I am). All your answers miss the point completely. You are telling me how to do it the way I have to do it now – not the way I would like to be able to do it. That's why I'm suggesting it.

Reorder questions WITHIN the Question Editor. Changing defaults WITHIN the Question Editor and not having to go in to the individual question itself.

Web 2.0 – happens on the same page – all in one place.

Not happy surveying at the minute.

Matt

Hey, Matt!

Sorry for my lapse of explanation! What I meant was that we don't currently offer the ability to reorder questions within the question editor, only through the “Reorder Questions” link under the “Edit Survey” tab. We are currently working on integrating these together for our next release of SurveyGizmo which we're hoping to release sometime this year, hopefully next quarter.
