This seems like kind of a crazy idea, but after poking around on a test survey for a little bit, it seems like it might just be possible…

My idea was to use SurveyGizmo to allow visitors to our site to send an e-card to a friend. It seems like by using Image Choice and then jumping them to a specific page with that image pre-loaded into it, we might be able to get some of that functionality. The main part I’m not clear on, though, is whether we could allow them to enter their email and friend’s email and have it send an email with the image and some customized text to their friend.

Is this something that’s currently possible with SurveyGizmo, or is this too far outside of the product use to work?

Thanks in advance!

Hi Beau,
Yes, this could be done. The only concern we have is SurveyGizmo’s email service is an opt-in service only. Therefore, you cannot allow your survey takers to enter in whoever they want into the To field.

What you can do is have them email the e-card to themselves and then forward it to their friends.

You could get the image into the email by doing an HTML email and having the reporting values of the question be the url to the image, then use the merge code for the question in the source section of the image tag.

If this doesn’t make much sense we can also create this for you through our Professional Services.

Hope this helps,
Chad
