I would like to have some respondents go through an additional question. I have uploaded their ‘profie information’ in to the survey - pre-populated fields. Now one of these fields gives me a variable which I’d like to use to determine whether they need to respond to an additional question.

I was able to set up this question (in advanced logic) so that only those who have say Variable#3=x see that question. Is it possible to program it so that anyone who has Variable#3=x OR =y Or =z get that particular question?

Thanks,

Yulia

Yulia,

Are you using the Show When rule to do this?

If so, yes. You just need to type in a pattern to match, like this:

/Value1|Value2|Value 3/

The // signifies a text pattern.

Christian,

It worked only fo the first variable :(

I couldn’t find this characted on my keyboard - ‘|’ - and so I copied the expression from your post and changes the text to the actual values. Well, if does recognize the first value and adjust the questionnaire accordingly. But the other two it didn’t recognize and didn’t show me the additional question.

Could it have anything to do with the fact that I made this question hidden by default?

Another issue with this logic. The additional question that should appear to only chosen ones is based on the value of one of the pre-populated questions.

I tried two different survey routes: entering the survey with the pre-populated trigure value=Value1, and then going in with the pre-populated trigue value=Value2. In the first case the additional question did appear as expected. In the Value2 case it didn’t. So, I clicked “Go Back” and changed the value for the variable to be equal Value1. After I clicked “Next” it didn’t result in an the addition question appearing.

I need to be able to have a respondent change their pre-populated values as needed and expect the questionnaire to act upon the respondent’s most up-to-date profile information.

What did I do wrong? How can I make it work?

Would appreciate your help.

Yulia,

Do you mind emailing support a link to your survey? You can address it to me. I’d like to take a look so I can see exactly what you are talking about.

Thanks!
