I’ve built a survey and have received 33 abandoned surveys, 0 partial surveys and 1 completed survey (6 total completed, but five were tests I conducted).
Can I review the questions that were filled out on the abandoned surveys?
How do I get to that information?

Hi Erie,
So we need to clarify the survey types first.
An abandoned survey is when someone enters your survey but doesn’t save any data. So no questions were answered.
A partial is when someone saves data but doesn’t go all the way through the survey.
And a completed is when someone gets to the end of the survey.
At the Enterprise level we allow people to include abandoned data in their data exports. This obviously doesn’t include any question data but instead has information about the person like geographic data, how long they stayed in the survey, when they started the survey etc.
Hope this helps,
Chad

Thank you for the clarification. I appreciate it!
But it’s spurred another question.
Could abandoned surveys be that someone just got part way through, answering questions along the way, but didn’t hit submit?
And, if so, is there a way to see the questions that were filled out before the person closed the survey (without hitting submit)?
Also — if I upgraded now, would I be able to see this data? Or would it only be effective with surveys created after the upgrade?

Hi, Erie.
An abandoned survey is when someone opens it, but does not submit any answers/data. A respondent must click on “Next Page” in order to submit data. If they answer questions on the first page, but never click “Next Page” (or “Submit” if it’s only one page), then no data is submitted and we have no record of what they answered.
If someone starts the survey, and goes to the second page, and then stops before finishing the survey, then some data is submitted and that is called a partial.
If you upgrade to an Enterprise account, you will be able to see all information about all of your surveys.
I hope this helps to clarify the difference between an abandoned and partial response.

Hi Eric,
You should be able to see the number of abandoned responses. This will tell you how many people have declined to fill in the survey.
You won’t see any details because for a response to be considered “abandoned” it means the user did not enter any data at all (or at least, did not click “submit” to get beyond the first page). He or she just clicked on the survey link, opened a browser window and closed it again without submitting at least one page of data.

Thanks Connie,
As an addition to that, Enterprise customers can export what data we have on an Abandoned, ex. query string variables, IP address, time they started the survey etc.
Hope this helps,
Chad
