Hi
Is it possible for me to group several of my questions into 1 table format. The problem is i am using sematic differential scales..i.e.
unhappy - Happy with a 7 point rating scale, so below that i want to place other traits so that they form one table rather than 1 separate question for each scale…so what i would like my subjects to see is smt like the example below:

1 2 3 4 5 6 7
unhappy Happy
Boring Lively
dishonest Honest

right now each trait is a separate question ..for example:
Q1)
1 2 3 4 5 6 7
unhappy Happy

Q2)
1 2 3 4 5 6 7
Boring Lively

Q3)
1 2 3 4 5 6 7
Honest dishonest

I have used the Table questions set up for questions where i don’t require labels on both sides of a likert scale…for example:

strongly disagree agree neutral disagree strongly dis
happy
sad
fun

But this set up is impossible for the semantic differential scale above with labels on both ends (unhappy - happy)

If you have a way to allow labels on both ends, with a rating scale of 1 to 7 within the same table then do let me know

thanks

For the title of the column, you could change it to:
Unhappy
1
2
3
4
5
6
Happy
7
.
Making sure to leave the reporting values the same (1,2,3,etc). This is simply adding an XHTML break
to the title to give you that effect.

Hi Mario

sorry i think you misunderstood my question and i should have explained it better

what i am trying to achieve is a table with labels on both ends going horizontally (not vertically)….a semantic scale with values from 1 to 7 on each row in the form of radio buttons:

unhappy 1234567 happy
unsociable 1234567 sociable
impatient 1234567 patient
emotional 1234567 rational

i want the labels on the left and right hand side of each of the rows. In the Table questionnaire/matrix option..you can only put a lebel on one side..either the left or the right NOt both

i have a feeling your software does not allow for labels on both sides of a scale as in the example above…..but if there is a way that will be great

thanks

Hi, Meryem.

You’re right. It isn’t possible to put labels on both ends of the scale. Sorry.
