Hi guys, great survey tool by the way. just discovered it recently and I'm impressed enough to quit another one I was using.

One question I had is: I'm using a dropdown list with one of the pre-fills (the country one, very handy) I want to add a couple of countries. Is it possible to add them other than at the end so the list remains in alpahbetical order?

As a side, I think it would be great if you offered a paid subcription for just doing one survey at a time. I don't often make surveys so would prefer not to have a monthly rate. I would happily pay a monthly rate and then remove my subscription when I have collected the responses if it meant that I would still be able to access all the responses if that was possible though.

Hello, DC3!

What you'll want to do is click the little notepad and pencil to go into edit your question, and from there, click on “Add/Edit in Bulk”. This will open a large text box that will let you add additional options wherever within your existing options that you want.

We're actually designed specifically the way you've described. Once you're ready, you can upgrade your service for a month, 2 months, 5 or 10, whatever works for you, and when you're finished, downgrade back to the Free plan. We're a monthy subscription, so you can pay for whatever amount of months you need, then get rid of it, you'll still have access to your collected responses, and we won't delete any of your data for at least three years.

hi jonathan, just to be clear – when I downgrade after I have collected the repsonses, I definitely will be able to see the results of my survey but obiously not filter them or perform any actions that require more than a free account. But if I have made any filters prior to that  – I should be able to see those results too?

Also, I guess the Add/Edit in Bulk feature does not work for all types of questions.

For example: in a 'table of multi answers' question – I can edit the column headers in bulk but not the roe headers.

Also the 'show hide triggers' feature only appears to be an option for 'table of multi answers' it seems.

Is 'piping' in an upgraded account similar to these 'show-hide triggers'?

Thanks for taking the time to respond. Appreciate it. Like I say – I'm very impressed with survey gizmo. You guy really put a lot of work into it and made it very comprehensive.I particularly like the option to insert column headers every X number of rows and small details like that.

Hi DC3,

When you downgrade, your surveys and data will all be there.  You will just loose the functionality of the paid account.  In the future, this may disable surveys that use features of the paid account and/or reports of paid accounts.

You are correct about the Add/Edit in Bulk.  It works for options. In a table, columns are like options.  Rows in a table are actually individual questions, and we do not currently have the ability to add/edit questions in bulk (just options).

The Show/Hide triggers are available for many question types, but it incompatiable with some of our more complicated questions and text/essay fields.  What type of question were you trying to show/hide from?

Piping is a bit different from Show/Hide and there a few different types.  Let's say you have a checkbox question (multiple selection).  Page piping would repeat a page of questions once for each option chosen.  Question piping would repeat a question once for each option.  Piping can also be used to make the selected options rows or columns in a table.  This can be very useful when wanting to ask only questions that are relevant to the survey taker.  Here is a short video on question piping that might do a better job explaining:

We really appreciate your feedback.  Would you mind if we added the following to our quotes page attributed to you?

I read the tutorial about piping so I see what that is now.

The questions I am trying to use it on are just common short multi-choice ot multi selectrion questions with either checkboxes or radio buttons. I understand it won't work for drop down. I see the other options..'other, fixed,  or group' but not the 'show / hide'

I only see this as an option in my two 'table of multiple choice' questions

Ah.  I see the issue.   The ability to Show and Hide is only available with paid accounts.  You being able to see the option in tables of multiple selection were a UI oversight and we apologize about that!

If you would like me to upgrade you to a 2-week trial of one of our paid accounts, you could try out this and other features of our paid accounts.  Unfortunately, Show/Hide is only available for Personal and above.  Let me know if you want a trial upgrade!

aha, that's good to know. I'm going to upgrade to a paid account before I post the survey to add in some other paid account features I like and to enable me to get more responses so I guess I'll start using that feature then. But if you want to upgrade me to a trial – that would be handy.

Thanks,

All the best.
