Hi. I want to make a survey that measures two things: 1. What does my visitors come to do
2. Where they successful at what they came for?

In order to do this (as far as I can see) i need to split the survey into two parts. One that covers questions related to “intention” (prior to visit) and one that covers success or failure (after visit).

I want only part 1 to be mandatory. Part 2 is not.

Once the survey taker has completed the first part (prior to visit) I’d like them to be able to submit the answers (have a submit button). Once it’s submitted, I’d like to invite them to do the second part. If they want to I would (preferably) send them an email with a link to extend their survey response.

My questions are the following:
1. How can I split this survey into 2 parts with a submit button in between the 2 parts? Do I have to make 2 separate surveys, or can I create just one? If I have to make 2 surveys, how do I connect the responses?

2. Is there any other ways of letting the survey taker come back to do the 2nd part?

Thanks for helping out!

Hi, Norbag.

You could accomplish this a couple of ways.

Here’s how you can set it up using 2 separate surveys and sending an email to those who take the first survey with a link to the second survey:

First, create both of your surveys.

In order to send a survey taker your email, you will need to collect their email address somewhere in the first survey.

Once both of your surveys are completed, go to the Thank You page of the first survey, click on the “Add actions” link at the top of that page.

On the page that opens up, click on the radio button labeled “Send Email.” Leave the dropdown box to read “after last question on current page.” You can name the email in the box at the bottom of the page if you like. Then click the “Add action” button.

The page that opens up next is where you will create the autoresponder that sends an email to those who took your first survey.

There are help links on that page to help you set it up correctly.

In the body of the email message, include the link to your second survey.

Once you’ve got everything the way you want it, click the “Save” button at the bottom of the page.

That’s it!
