Is is possible to limit the number of characters in a text box?  We have an ID system that requires users to create a 6 character ID (both numbers and letters) and we want to restrict them to entering 6 characters.  When we changed the size of the field that only limited how big the box looked, but they could still enter more than 6 characters.  Any help is much appreciated!

Hello, Tia!

We offer a word count limiter in our Essay Responses, but not a character limiter for our text fields, but you can get around this using the validation feature. Go ahead and click into edit your text question, and scroll down to the big, blue “Validation” section. From there, find the “Actual Regex Pattern” and put in your Regular Expression for validation, something like

^.{9,12}$

should work great!
