I have two checkbox questions that both include an “other-please specify” option. In the report, the bar graph for both of these questions show there were responses entered for “other” but those responses don’t appear anywhere in the report, and are not a part of the percentage calculations for the question options.
Where can I find these responses? How can I include the “other” option with the percentage calculation for the question?
And when I say “report” I am generating a summary report and clicking the “view” option.
Thanks!
Juana

Hi Juana,
Those options that were entered in should appear in the datasheet below the chart. They’ll be named whatever the person entered into the other textbox.
So:
X Dogs
O Cats
O Birds
X Other: Gorillas
You will see results in the graph for Dogs and Other and in the datasheet Dogs and Gorillas.
Hope this helps,
Chad

Chad,
That’s good to know, but unfortunately the only place I’ve been able to find those responses (and so far it’s only 3) was in the CSV/Excel exported file. Any ideas as to what I could be doing wrong?

Hi Juana,
Hmm that’s a little weird what’s the name of the survey and the response id (or some way to locate those responses).
Thanks,
Chad

Chad,
The survey name is “2008 EOSL Survey”. There are two “choose all” questions with “other-please specify” options (questions 1 and 3 on page 4, or under the Edit Survey mode, questions 12 and 14). The response IDs are:
8004649 (Q2 / Q14)
8046546 (Q1/ Q12)
8262596 (Q1/ Q12)
8317400 (Q2 / Q14)
8321217 (Q2 / Q14)
Thanks,
Juana

Took a look and you are correct, those are not showing up. I think this is specific to a checkbox other box (I cross tested it internally to make sure it wasn’t specific to your survey), and I’ve reported the bug as such. It’s really late in the patch cycle, so it may need to be delayed till the next patch, however I’ve set the bug report for our developers to go ahead and get that looked at, as it is seems to be specific to summary reports (and your data is showing properly in the csv/xls export.
Sorry for the inconvenience, and thanks for your patience.
