Correct, our progress bar works by counting the total number of un-hidden pages and dividing by the page you’re currently on.
Thus if you have logic that un-hides pages or jumps backwards in the survey, the progress bar will also move backward.
Unless the progress bar can predict the survey takers answers, the only solution to this is to make the progress bar forward only. That is, once it gets to 98% it will not go backward, this would make it less accurate and would not be a desirable solution.
In this case the simplest solution would be to remove the progress bar since it’s more of a hindrance than a help. You can do this by going to Edit Survey->Look & Feel. Alternatively, if your survey is predictable enough you can use descriptive text fields at the bottom of each page telling the survey taker how far they have left to go.
