I have a few questions -
1) Is there any easy way to make all questions in a survey required without checking the ‘required’ box for every single question?
2) Is it possible to set the error message so that it lists or highlights which questions have not been answered?
3) Is it possible to set the essay box length through the CSS template (all at once) without changing it for each essay box already in the survey?
Thanks in advance!

Hi Shoo,
1) Unfortunately, no. What you should ask yourself though is, if you’re un-willing to go into each question and check the required box, are your survey takers going to be willing to answer all of those questions?
2) This is an bug with some of our newer templates. Our designers are working on correcting this issue.
3) Yes you can just use the class sg_Essay.
Hope this helps,
Chad

Hi, i’m still sort of new to this. I think my question is related to these previous ones. I would like to set a minimum character length for an essay question. The point being that we want to require the responders to these questions to write at least a certain amount. is there a simple way to explain how this is adjusted?
Thanks.

Hi, Geoffrey.
For an essay question, no you cannot set a minimum required character length. We have tried to cover the basics for what most people require for their essay questions.
If you use a textbox question, there is much more flexibility in terms of required content/actions for your survey takers.
I hope this helps!

I see I can set the published size of an essay box but I don't want to limit to size of the answer. Is this box infinite in the form?

The limit is well over 10,000 characters, so you should be fine unless it's a novel submission, then a file upload would be more appropriate.

This survey will be embedded into our website - what kind of files can be uploaded and how will that be reported?

You can specify the file type restrictions for the upload (e.g. jpg, gif, bmp), and the limit as well (up to 2MB). To download the file, you would browse the individual response and it would provide a link to download the file. The Summary Report would show the filename, as well as the .csv/.xls export, but not the download link.
Please note that file upload questions should be used with OPTION 2 embedding, iframe embed. option 1, javascript embed, will not support file upload questions due to limitations of javascript.
