Hi there,
I was just wondering if there is a feature that allows a window to pop up on the participant's screen to alert them that they have not answered a question on that page? I cannot make the questions required for ethical reasons, but I just wanted an alert to come up to notify them that the answer was being left blank. Does this feature exist with SurveryGizmo?

Hi Karen,
We do not currently have this feature, but I have added it to the feature requests for the upcoming version of SurveyGizmo. Making questions unrequired is a means to increase response rate, so adding another action if they didn't answer questions would be self-defeating since it is an extra step for them. However, we like the idea of alerting survey takers to unanswered questions (without requiring them) and need to find an effective means to do this. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

I just signed up for Surveygizmo and I'm really impressed. karenc's request is very important–this should be a high priority for the next release. This functionality has to do two things: 1) It must alert the respondent that they skipped a question(s) and 2) It must allow the respondent the option to leave it blank and move on. One way I've seen is to have a pop-up window that appears when a question is skipped (or answered incompletely) but that also has an option that the respondent can click that says they intended to leave it blank. Another way is to wait until the end of the survey, then, if questions are left blank, a message appears that says something like, “You left Questions 3, 8, and 9 blank. Did you mean to do this? Please check the highlighted questions, then press the “Submit” button at the bottom” — then the program highlights the skipped questions so the respondent can easily see what needs to be filled in.

Maringuy307,
That's a full featured request. Thanks for the feedback, and it has been noted!
