I’m trying to create a “quiz” in which the logic doesn’t lead simply to a “pass/fail” result.
I have four answers for each question. At the end of the quiz, I’m trying to track those four answers to four possible personality types. So if you answer A on every question, then your corresponding personality type is an “A” in the results. Same for possible answers “B”, “C” and “D”.
Is this possible with SurveyGizmo? I’ve only been able to find the “pass/fail” functionality.
Thanks, any help is greatly appreciated!

Depending on whether you just want to display a “report” at the end based on their answers, or if you want to display different questions for each ‘personality type’, you’ll probably actually want to create a survey that isn’t a quiz, but that uses either our “Page Jump Logic” or “Branching Survey” actions. For these to work your questions need to be on a separate page from the Action itself, so if all your questions are on page 1 you’ll want to add a 2nd page, then hit the ADD ACTION button.
We’ve actually just added a video tutorial of simple page jumping that you might want to check out:

Thanks Jason, I’m new to this, so I’m still a bit confused. So, let me provide a specific hypothetical example on what I’m trying to do:
(Quiz or SurveyTitle) What Kind of Bird would you be?
Q 1. Someone cuts you off in traffic, so you:
A. Run them off the road
B. Pass it off, because you don’t want to incite road rage
C. Give them the “Peace Sign”
So, there would be 10 of these questions…and let’s assume for simplicity that answer A always corresponds with the bird type “hawk”, and answer B always corresponds with the answer “Owl” and answer C always corresponds with the answer “Dove”.
So, then, based on which answer A, B, or C, they selected most, they would be given a personality type at the end of the exercise….
“You are an owl…You are powerful but you exercise caution and wisdom in your actions”
Does that make sense? And is that a survey or quiz.
Thanks again so much for your help.

Charles -
This definitely makes sense, and after consulting with our team it seems that your best option here would actually to use our custom scripting abilities.
Our team will be glad to help you out if you want to jump in and see what you can do!
Alternatively if you’d like, we can do it for you. More info here: http://www.surveygizmo.com/import-consulting-services/
let us know if there is anything else we can help you with!

I’m looking for a quiz software and found you guys on google.
I’m trying to do a quiz where people answer questions about how they run their business. At the end of the quiz, I want to auto-send an email with answers/suggestions specific to how they answered each question.
So if there are say, 10 questions in the quiz, there would be 10 different paragraphs of information in the email- each specifically tied to their answer for each question.
Does that make any sense?
Thank you for your help!

Janny,
We do support this. What you would do is enter two values for all your multiple choice questions.
The first value is what they see on the survey, the second which we call the “Reporting Value” is what will be merged into their email.
Then you just need to create an auto-responder action on your thank you page and use out “merge helper” to insert each of the questions for your survey.
The merge helper will insert the report values. You are all set from that point!
Cheers,
Christian

Hi Christian, I need something in between Charles and Janny. I need to run something similar a psychological test that will result in some sort of personality types. I’m new to surveygizmo.
You wrote “is what will be merged into their email”. I don’t plan to ask any email address of my respondents. Is there a way to show a text at the end of the questions, based on their results, without sending any email?

Hi Ivo,
Absolutely. Actually that’s the default way quizzes work. You need to add a specific action to the survey to get it to send an email.
Cheers!

i dont think so! but its nice not choose pass/fail……. much better if you use 1 up to 5max choices they will only rate it by numbers! and of course your questions should co insight to it!… im not telling you that this is it, this is the one you should use, im just sharing an opinion.

Hi,
This is a Pro Account and above feature. It is a quiz score action where you can change to a tally option.
Hope this helps!
