Hello. Can someone recommend me some of the available software for questionnaire scanning purposes? I'm familiar with mrScan and mrPaper by SPSS. I also found KeyPoint Scanning by Speedwell and something like Remark OMR (i'm not sure this is the correct name of the product). I don't know if the above are suitable for what i'm looking for, but i thought i'd give it a try asking. I'm interested in scanning paper survey questionnaires into a pc and, if possible, enter the data into SPSS in order to use it. I would appreciate any answers
Thank you
P.S. I am sorry if this topic already exists, but i'm new!

Hello!
We've actually considered implementing something like OCR into our service, but while it poses a potential technological interest for us, we just haven't had enough customer demand to implemented and release a working version of such a feature.

First of all thank you for your reply
I think i have misunderstood the subjects of this forum. I thought it was an open forum where one can post any question he had about survey software, and i hadn't realised that it concerns surveygizmo provided material. If it is possible, i would appreciate it if someone could inform me about the generally available software that i can install on a pc. I have this task for my school to find and “compare” programs for questionnaire scanning, in order to find a way to enter scan data into SPSS and work.
Thank you again, and sorry for the inconvenience

Don't even worry, I'm happy to help whether you use our service or not. I know what its like having a project and a timeline. :-)
My personal favorite place to look up topics like this is Wikipedia – I found the Wikipedia page on OCR (Optical Character Recognition – the ability to “scan” in questionnaires) The page gives alot of good information about the technology and history, but most important for you, has a great list of available software, as well as limited information about each one, with links to more in depth information.
I think this might be exactly what you're looking for:

I hope this helps!

I can assure you it helped a lot! I agree with you on Wikipedia, but, as a Greek i had some trouble translating exactly what i was looking for into, well, Optical Character Recognition, so it was kinda difficult. At least now i have a basis to search futher.
Thanks again
