Hi there.

Can you tell me if there is a way to restrict access to surveys to particluar individuals in SurveyGizmo? For example, if I wanted to survey 100 people, is there a way I could generate a unique identifier for each (e.g. passcode) so that they would have to enter it before they could take the survey. If so, is there tracking associated with this, so that I can tell who has answered or not and send reminders to those who haven’t?

Thanks for your help.
Ben.

Ben,

You can do this with SurveyGizmo using our Email Invite tool.

The email invite tool lets your upload a list of respondants and it generates a unique identifier for each one.

The identifier is automatically tagged to the survey link, so they don’t need to type it in again — simply clicking on the personalized link invites them into the survey and identifies who they are.

Turning on the “Respondants must come from an Email Invite” option for your survey will block everyone else out.

The email invite tool keeps track of who clicks through, starts a survey, finishes a survey or doesn’t do anything at all — and allows you to create follow-up emails to each group (multiple times).

Hopefully that will work for you! :)

Cheers,

Christian

Hi,

I have an additional question concerning this topic.

Does the personlized link in the invitation emails hinder respondants from answering a survey multiple times.

Thx

C.

Carsten,

It depends. You have two options that control the link behavior in the email invites. One option will allow the respondant to answer many times.

The other will only allow them to complete the survey once, re-clicking the link will allow them to return to a partial response and complete thier survey at a later time.

I hope this helps!

Cheers,

Hi Christian,

So if I upgrade from the free account to “personal” I can send out invitations by email that can only be answered once (when this option is selected)?

Regards,

Carsten.

Hiya!

How can I stop someone (who was invited by email) to restart the survey and change his answers once the respondant actually completed the survey already?

Cheers

Hi Rob,
I’m not sure if I understand your question, so I’ll just answer both.

A person invited by email can reenter their survey with all previously filled out answers prefilled by reclicking on the link emailed to them.

At the pro level we also have Vote Protection. This will limit the number of responses per respondent to one response. This protection will also allow the respondent back into their survey to continue working on it but once it has been completed they will not be able to edit it again.

At the personal level the simple, although not fool proof method, is to remove the back button in the survey. This will only allow the respondent to move forward through their survey.

Hope this helps!
Chad
