Hello Christian.
I thought I would come to the forum for this question, as it is likely to apply to other researchers:
I need a survey that can tally responses which will be given on a likert scale (so not simple yes/no answers), and give totalled scale scores to the participant when they hit the “Finish” button at the end of their survey.
I would like to give feedback to my participants because they can then compare their results with the average scores that have been published in previous studies. It is something that may encourage people to participate.
The likert scales take the form of “strongly agree, agree, neutral, disagree, strongly disagree”. Some items are reversed, so that a strongly disagree will be worth less points than a strongly agree in that item. In other items the strongly disagree is worth more than a strongly agree.
This is really getting into complex survey software that universities would love to know about. There seem to be few other survey software applications that can do this (none that I have found so far). Which leaves the researcher having to sort through the data, tally it and email responses back to participants.
Many thanks for your thoughts Christian.
Alison.
