for example, i would like to be able to have participants rate certain statements with low medium and high importance, but then also have a line that says other with a text box so they can fill in their own response all in the same question. How do I do that?

This is a simple radio button where the last row is ‘Other’ and you check the appropriate box when editing the question to mark it as an ‘other’ field (and thus it has a textbox next to it).
