I am doing a survey where we have a list of 70 questions and we want our participants to rank each question twice – is it possible to set up two rankings per question, or do we have to write out the same question twice?
For example, we want to find out if the frequency that the item occurs (Never – Often) and the second ranking would measure whether the item is important to them (Not at all – Very Important)

Hi Donna,
You could set up a custom matrix with the first subcolumn being frequency and the second being importance. Each could have its own rating scale and you could choose from a radio button or dropdown menu. You could break the survey down into 7 pages, each with its own custom matrix with 10 rows/questions and two rankings/columns. Make sense?

Thanks for your reply Marybeth. Below is an example of what we are trying to achieve. As we would need to upgade to set up a custom matrix, can you please confirm that we would be able to do the below:
Frequency Importance
Never……Often Not at all……Very Important
1. I have a sense of belonging at work 1 2 3 4 5 1 2 3 4 5
2. I feel “out of place” at work 1 2 3 4 5 1 2 3 4 5

Yes you can! Rather than making these questions individual ranking questions, you can use a Table/Matrix of Radio Buttons. This would allow you to make a table with 2 rows, one for frequency and one for importance.
Another way to get actually layout you're looking for is to use a custom matrix, this would allow you to make a column for frequency and a column for importance all in the same row.
