Support Forums : advice for increasing "completed" & reducing "abandoned / partial completed" responses

Hi,

I have noticed that most of my respondents are either abandoning the survey, or only partially completing it.

I have a fairly simple survey, and I have even changed the question strategy - meaning, I have provided no “required” questions, and have also explicitly stated the privacy policy & what the personal information will be used for (I did these in case folks were abandoning due to fear of the collection of their personal data).

Another thought I had was that, what if folks have their pop-up blockers turned on - would this cause them to not be able to get to my survey? If so, how can I make the survey appear in either a new window, or a new tab, or the same window (thus defeating the pop-up blockers).

Thank you for your suggestions. I agree w/ the “cheesy” feel of some of the titles, and will change that accordingly.

Not sure though, if I want to change the “free gift” portion (allowing folks to see what the free gifts are *before* taking the survey) - the whole point was to give them an incentive to take the survey by offering free gifts if they take the survey. I was hoping most folks would want the free gifts, no matter if they knew what they were beforehand or not.

But, I’ll ask my “test” group (family/friends/co-workers) and get their opinions as to whether or not they think I should divulge what the gifts are ahead of time, and will take their answers into consideration!!

As far as my “type” of survey - I was going for more of a contact information capturing device - I want folks to fill out the basic survey, so that I have a feel as to what products/services they’re interested in - but on page 2, I’d like their phone #, email, etc so that I can then shoot them a line as a followup later on. Sort of like “prodding” them if they showed an interest.

Anyway, I appreciate the feedback - by the way - prior to using Survey Gizmo, I had tried a few other survey sites (Survey Monkey being one), and I’ve got to say - Survey Gizmo is by far the easiest, most robust, most “bang for your buck” product out there!!!
