I’m looking to create a drop down menu question with different answers for each drop down menu.

see example

I can select multiple answers per row but I cannot make each drop down menu have a different set of answers they all use the one set and I only have the option to add one set of answers.

How do I add multiple sets.

Yep…I'm having the exact same problem, and I wonder if there's an issue with Survey Gizmo.  When I click “add a question,” I'm taken to a screen where I can choose the question type.  I choose Table/Matrix of Dropdown Menus and even see an example that is exactly what I'm looking for - a table of dropdown items, and each item in the matrix has a different set of items in the dropdown boxes.  However, when I select this, I'm only given one option for all dropdown menus.  Is there something I'm missing?

Hi Tom,

Tables of dropdowns all have the same menu options.  Looking at the sample myself, I see it isn't very clear.  However, the list of companies is the same for each column: skis, boots, and bindings. The example just shows different options chosen. What I am thinking you want is each column to have its own drop-down menu options.

To do this, select a “Custom Matrix” question type.  Add your question title and row headers, then select “Adv. edit options for this question” before hitting Add Question. You can also access advanced edit by clicking the little notebook and pencil icon to the left of the question in the question editor.

In the advanced editor, you can scroll down to SubQuestions below the rows.  Here you can add as many groups as you need columns. For each, specify the column header (group title), group type (menu/dropdown), and sub-columns (menu options).

This will give you a table of dropdowns with different dropdown menus via a custom matrix question type.
