Hi there,
We are testing prices for a new concept. We want to randomize prices seen so we can understand price elasticity. We have 2 prices and free:
How likely are you to subscribe to this service if it is offered free of charge?
How likely are you to suscribe to this service if it is offered for $10 per month
How likely are you to subscribe to this service if it is offered for $25 per month?
We want to know for each respondent which price was seen first, so we can build a table:
Likelihood to Subscribe
Price $10 $20
Saw first
Saw last
Total
is there any way to track which price was seen first?
I need to publish this survey today so could someone please respond ASAP

Hi Gcat,
We could do this with a custom script. The function that you need to do this doesn’t exist yet though. If you’re interested in creating this function please contact our Professional Services department at support[at]sgizmo.com.
Thanks,
Chad

Out of curiosity, has this functionality been created? I am interested in capturing the same ordering information.

Hi Janice,
No, we haven’t created this functionality yet. Keep in mind with this kind of question your population size has to be huge in order to get any statically significant data, esp. if your range is very large.
This can be done with a custom script. But a better idea might be to let the respondent choose from a list of price ranges. And/or enter the max they would pay for it in an open text.
Hope this helps,
Chad

I am creating a one question survey where I am testing 6 concepts and I have randomized the order of the concepts. I would also like to randomly select 3 of the 6 questions every time so that the reader doesn't have to consider all 6 questions. I would also like to test different price points, similar to the previous post. We are planning to embed the survey in our web site (http://start.cortera.com) which gets enough traffic for us to be able to expect sufficient data to make the data from the survey statistically significant.

Hi Chris,
I'm not 100% sure what your question is, but as for the tracking of the multiple price points, like Chad said earlier, we can create a custom script and you can contact our Professional Services team at support [at] sgizmo.com and they can build it for you.
Thanks!
