New: SPSS Export

Last week at SxSW Scott and I agreed not to post boring “feature release” blog posts anymore. But I’m going to turn right around and make an exception in this case, because exporting to SPSS is a long-awaited feature for many of our research users.
For those of you not familiar with SPSS, it is a very popular (or at least widely used) statistical analysis package that researchers and analytical marketers use to crunch up survey data into meaningful stats.

So, without further ado: I am happy to announce that you can now export SurveyGizmo data into SPSS. Not just in a limited fashion, but complete with variable labels and named values (which makes data cleanup far, far easier).

The export option is available under “Reports” for any survey. This feature is available for our Enterprise clients.

Happy surveying!

I think I’m going to like this aspect for surveys.

I hope so Lola! If you can think of anything that will make the SPSS export easier please let me know in the forums. SPSS is a very powerful tool — and we want to make exporting as easy as possible!

Can you export the SPSS using a different delimiter, such as pipe-delimited, rather than comma? Anytime there is a comma in a comment question, it throws off the exported data into multiple variable columns. Made the data totally unusable after my first comment field.

As an alternative, maybe you could allow users to choose what type of values they want downloaded (in Excel) as an option - numeric values or the Value Labels only?

I’m visiting for the first time, thanks to watching Oprah’s recycling / Going Green show.

I’m overwhelmed by your hi-tech lingo and all your options I begin to can’t understand. I hope you’ll slowly explain some of it in your newsletters.
