Tom Johnson has done a great job this year as president of the Suncoast chapter in bringing more Web technology to its membership and in encouraging interesting presentations.
Thank you, Tom. |

I would have selected local "brain trust" but there seems to be few opportunities to tab into it. |

Conferences, when I can go.
I stopped attending Suncoast Chapter meetings when I was in a verbally abusive work environment and physically threatened by someone who was an officer for the Suncoast Chapter! Talk about a hypocrite. Not saying that's the case now, but it left a bad taste with me.
Plus, the meetings are in Tampa, and I am not up for a drive across the bay after working all day.
I do enjoy the Suncoast Web site though, the format, articles, and the newsletters. I am definitely interested in listening to the podcasts as well. Going to a meeting? Not so much. |

It is a great network of people to interact with and learn from. |

In over 30 years of work, my best friends remain the people I have met in STC.

The brain trust is only as useful as the networking makes it. So I only marked the networking, to give myself room for a fifth choice.
The monthly meetings are the vehicle for much of the networking and professional development and are the source of most of the podcasts (which, sorry, I haven't tried yet).
If I were an STC member, I would choose the magazines/journals and probably the conferences.
Why do you only list the TechPubs competition? The range of competitions is an important part of the professional exposure. |
