ISO/IEC JTC1/SC36* is defining a new standard for e-Textbooks.

The future e-Textbook standard (ISO/IEC 18120) will supplement - and not replace - existing standards for digital books.

During 2012/13, the editors of ISO/IEC 18120 are scoping the requirements for this project to ensure that it meets the needs of the various stakeholder communities.

Thank you for completing this short survey, which may take up to half an hour. Your responses are valuable and will be used to help us steer this important new standard.

No personal information from the survey will be passed outside the project team.

ISO/IEC JTC1/SC36 is consulting closely with CEN WS/LT in order to identify common requirements for a global e-Textbook standard. CEN WS/LT, the Learning Technologies Workshop of the European Committee for Standardisation, is running a scoping project named “eTernity”. More information is available at http://etextbookseurope.eu/.

* SC36 is the sub-committee of JTC1 - a Joint Technical Committee of the International Standards Organisation and the International Electrotechnical Commission - that focuses on IT in learning, education and training.
