NADA/ATD thanks you for participating in the development of a new ENERGY STAR energy performance scale for dealerships. As part of its partnership with EPA's ENERGY STAR program, NADA is collecting this data to help determine the key drivers of dealership energy use. It is important that the data survey be filled out COMPLETELY, as incomplete surveys cannot be used.

Data Collection Guidelines

Please report valid 2012 calendar year data. For values (other than energy use) that fluctuate during the year, please provide an average value.  If you have any questions at all on how to complete this survey, please click here or email lbailey@nada.org.

Before beginning the survey, it may be helpful to gather the following materials and data:
1. The square footage totals for various parts of your dealership such as the parking areas and the showroom. Need help determining the square footage of your parking area and buildings?  Use this handy tool that uses Google Earth to help you estimate the square footage based on the satellite view of your dealership!
2. The types of energy your dealership uses to heat, cool and power your facility.
3. The number of certain types of equipment your facility uses such as lifts, computers and refrigerators. For a complete list, please click here.
4. Information about your dealership's energy consumption in 2012. This information includes data from your facility's meter readings for 2012 and can be found on your utility bills.
