Applications are due on Thursday, May 15th. You may apply either online or by mailing a paper copy of the application (To: Dale Grigas, 3042 O’Brien Drive, Tallahassee FL 32309)
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:  Teen Square is a program for high school seniors in Leon County who are interested in politics and government. It is sponsored by the local nonprofit The Village Square, organized by a bipartisan group of community leaders concerned with reviving a constructive community dialog across the partisan divide. For more information, visit The Village Square online at http://www.tallahassee.tothevillagesquare.org/teen-square

Students who are selected will earn up to 25 hours (or more) of public service credit hours for college.

Teen Square meets four times during the school year. Teen Square participants will have the opportunity to meet with local civic leaders during these programs.

Selection for the program is based on academic achievement, extracurricular involvement, and leadership potential. Applicants are required to have a minimum 3.0 unweighted GPA and obtain written consent of their parent/guardian(s). Students should be able to work constructively with peers who differ from them.

Teen Square members must fulfill a volunteer service component that can be met by assisting with three events during the course of the year, all of which are on Tuesday nights (dates TBA, but there will be choices available). Members may choose between "Dinner at the Square" and "Take-out Tuesday" events. Not available Tuesday night? You can complete your service hours with a PR/poster distribution position that can be completed on your own schedule.

Participants must commit to attend, if selected, all meetings on the below dates and times at St. John's Episcopal Church in downtown Tallahassee:
