The Kansas City region is home to a variety of successful information technology, telecommunications, and life sciences firms – Let`s map these clusters!

We are conducting this survey to gain a better understanding of the Kansas City region's startup and established business environment and how companies and resources in this region are connected to one another--how they are clustered.

How will we use the information?
The information will be used to create a map of relationships (i.e. genealogy) among high-tech firms. The genealogy data will be visualized on a poster similar to the ones created for other regions (link: http://www.heikemayer.com/spinoff-regions.html).

The first version of the Kansas City region map has been produced:

(PDF version is available here). This survey is designed to allow individuals to add more information about companies to ensure the map is an accurate reflection of the Kansas City region, and to allow additional firms to participate in the study.

Who should respond to this survey?
We ask that anyone knowledgeable about the history of a firm respond to this questionnaire. Please respond to all questions. The survey will take at most 10 to 15 minutes. In return for your time, we will send you a complimentary .PDF copy of the poster we are creating.

Confidentiality
Your privacy is important to us. We will publish company names and organization relationships (e.g. genealogy) similar to the other posters you can find at the link above. All other information will be kept strictly confidential and will not be reported, released or disclosed in any way that could connect your specific responses to your name or company.
