User Feedback on Preliminary 2011 England and Wales Output Area Classification

A new UK Output Area Classification (OAC) is being constructed using 2011 Census data, through a collaboration between the Office for National Statistics (ONS) and University College London (UCL).

To help further improve the classification before 2011 Census data from Scotland and Northern Ireland are incorporated at a later date, user feedback on the organisation, names and descriptions of the groups used in the Preliminary 2011 England and Wales OAC are sought through this short questionnaire. The preliminary classification is hosted on a website sponsored by the Economic and Social Research Council 'Retail Research and Data' initiative, and user feedback about this site is being solicited at the same time.

This survey will run until the 30th September 2013 and is being targeted at (a) users of the current UK Output Area Classification and/or (b) users working in the retail sector. However, feedback is also welcomed from anyone interested in social area classifications, encompassing geodemographics and neighbourhood classifications.
