Questionnaire - Small Organic Farms & Organic Certification
The purpose of this brief questonnaire is to collect information from Small Canadian Organic Farms & businesses - both Certified and Not Certified.
The goal is to identify why organic businesses do and don't certify, to look at the barriers to certification and come up with proposals to create a certification process that is workable and attractive to small local organic farmers and businesses.
We invite you to help us by answering these questions.
Comments and suggestions received by April 11 will be used to inform draft recommendations which will be shared with the organic sector over the fall and winter of 2014-2015. The "Working Group on Small Scale Organic Certification" is part of the
Review of the Canadian Organic Standards currently underway. It is hoped that as a result of the information collected during the spring of 2014 the working group will have some proposals to share with the small scale organic farming community in late 2014. Based on the response to those proposals recommendations will be made to the Committee on Organic Agriculture of the Canadian General Standards Board in 2015.
