Here's what to expect next:

1. We will review your application, within 72 hours (Weekend applications will be reviewed on Monday)

2.We’ll create the shell of your Craft Party event listing for you, including the title, a default description, and default time/date. You can and should edit these to customize them for your party.

3. We’ll give you access to the Etsy Craft Party Eventbrite for your Craft Party. You’ll have access through June 6th, 2014. Learn more about setting up your Evnetbrite Page below.

4. You'll fill in your Craft Party listing on Eventbrite with all the pertinent details. Keep planning and inviting friends!

5. June 6th is Craft Party! Have fun and be sure to take lots of photos of #CraftParty @Etsy. We’ll be highlighting great attendee photographs during the event this year on Etsy’s Twitter channel!

6. The week after Craft Party we will send out a survey to hear how it went. Be ready to share your feedback, quotes, and links to photos, and we may include your party in a round-up article on the Etsy Blog.

3 Steps to Finalize Your Craft Party!

How will it work to be an organizer this year?

1. Eventbrite: Start by clicking “host a party” directly from our new Eventbrite Hub.

Click “host a party” to get started.

Then you’re ready to create your page. Click “create an event.”

Once you’ve created your page, you can start customizing your event.

You’ll see that we have set up the shell of your Craft Party event listing for you. You can and should customize your page for your Party, filling in all the pertinent information about your individual party. Don’t worry if you don’t know all the details quite yet - you can go back and edit your page anytime.

Pro tip: Don’t have your location yet? Set it as TBD and use the page as a “save the date” to promote your event!

2. Customize Your Eventbrite Listing

Add your Event Details

Write a description: Your event listing should clearly represent what your participants can expect. What will they do at the party? What will the craft projects be? How will this party interpret the theme of Recapture? Will there be refreshments or music? Why is this party special and fun? Why should they definitely not miss it?

For clarity, please keep the title in the format of “Craft Party: Your City.” You’re welcome to add something more descriptive to the title, as long as you retain the “Craft Party:” and your city. (For example: Craft Party: Nashville – Recapturing Tennessee)

Be sure to set the date as June 6th and to add in a time for your party. Double-check that it is listed in your time zone.

Decide what type of tickets to create. Your event can be free or paid. Learn more about fees for paid tickets here. After you’ve selected a ticket type, you’ll be able to set a capacity for your event.

It’s a good idea to set up a waiting list, in case your party fills up.

You can upload a photo in your event details. If you do this, make sure it is a beautiful, clear, well-lit image that represents your party well. (Note: We’ll soon add an event “logo,” so don’t worry about that. Only add an image to your event details.)

3. Promote your Craft Party!

Share your event through Facebook, Twitter, email--and your Etsy Team if you’re on one!

Watch your emails because our design team is hard at work creating fun Craft Party gifs and blog badges for you to use on all of your online networks. We’ll be sending them over in the next week or so. When you get them post them anywhere you'd like to promote, including on your blog, newsletters, email signatures, and social media sites. Share away – these are a resource we made for organizers like you!

Once you’ve completed those three steps, you’re all set!

FAQs

What project(s) should we make at our Craft Party?

This year’s theme is Recapture: Bring New Meaning to Your Photographs. We will have a template for embroidering on your chosen image or a photograph in our digital kit–but what you make is completely up to you! You can find inspiration in the Make section of the Etsy blog for inspiration and how-to's.

Can I charge for my Craft Party?

This is up to you. If you feel that you need to collect a small fee to offset costs for supplies, snacks, or space rental, go for it. Keep in mind that the spirit of Craft Party is to celebrate creativity and community, and not a means to make an income.

How will I manage my events?

This year we are using Eventbrite for this purpose. Have feedback on using Eventbrite for Craft Party? We’d love to hear what you think.

Can I have my party on a different date?

We encourage Craft Parties to happen on June 6, 2014 to come together in diverse ways celebrate creativity and community together as one big happening across the world on one day. Think of it as an international handmade holiday. However, if you really feel the need to celebrate on a slightly different date, go for it.

Eventbrite-Specific

Do participants have to have an Eventbrite account to join in the fun?

No, you can RSVP with your email or you Facebook sign-in. It’s that easy!

Does using the Eventbrite for Craft Party cost money?

Nope, party organizers will be given free access to Eventbrite for Craft Party 2014.
