Venture for America Fall Internship- General

The "general" fall internship at VFA is an exciting and compelling opportunity to explore what goes into the management of a high growth nonprofit and an exclusive fellowship program working to revitalize emerging cities.

What You'll Do:
- Work on a variety of projects pertaining to content creation, Selection Day, recruitment, and office operations
- Have the opportunity to get involved with various VFA teams
- Pitch in on operational challenges, admissions process, and anywhere else you can add value
Venture for America Fall Corporate Development Internship

The Corporate Development team at VFA sources great opportunities for our Fellows by identifying expansion cities and finding promising startups who need talent. We work with cool companies in VFA cities and match them with our top-notch Fellows. Day to day, we connect with awesome entrepreneurs, scout up-and-coming cities, and support our Fellows in finding their dream job.

You:
- Are a hungry hustler who wants to learn all you can about what makes a great startup
- Love trolling FirstRound, Mattermark, and Paul Graham essays for entrepreneurial insights
- Are a curious researcher adept at manipulating data #excelboss
- Savvy communicator, fluent on social media platforms
- Have experience managing a website or blog (comfortable navigating the backend of Squarespace)
- Appreciate a healthy dose of snark - you take your work seriously, but not yourself

What You'll Do:
- Mine venture financing datasets to find awesome startups in expansion cities
- Support us in managing relationships with current partners by helping us devise asocial media strategy
- Assemble relevant content for Fellows and companies and post to a custom site
- Kick ass everyday by Googling your way to victory and proactively communicating
Venture for America Fall Recruitment Internship

The recruitment team (1/2 of "The Voice") is responsible for recruiting and selecting Fellows. We field questions about VFA or the application, visit campuses, and handle the selection process from reviewing applications to planning Selection Days.

You:
- Feel there is no task too small
- Are a top-notch phone, in-person, and e-mail communicator
- Give everything 10% more than it requires
- Know a few things about startups and students
- Are organized, reliable, and results-oriented
- Tell a great story and are a great relationship-builder

What You'll Do:
- Work with Team, Fellows, and Community Marketing Interns to maximize recruitment outreach efforts
- Help coordinate logistics in preparation for on-campus events
- Analyze and organize data about past and present applicant pools
- Promote events by creating content for email and social media communications
- Liaise with potential applicants via phone and email (and occasionally at in-person events) to answer FAQs and pitch VFA
- Manage and update job board postings
- Pitch in on operational challenges, admissions process, and anywhere else you can add value
Venture for America Fall Communications Internship

The Comms team (1/2 of “The Voice”) handles all things related to the VFA brand. Communications cultivates content for VFA's website, newsletters, social media, and presentations to amplify our message to the right audiences.

You:
- Are a student at a top college/university with a major in communications, marketing, writing, or related
- Demonstrate next-level organizational skills and detail-orientation. Typos make you sick.
- Can prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Not only have very strong writing skills, but you love doing it. Have the ability to produce compelling content quickly in the VFA brand voice.
- Have created content before for an internship or organization you're involved with (website, blog, social media, newsletters, e-mails, and/or collateral)
- Able to identify opportunities and channels for sharing content and engaging our audiences

What You'll Do:
- Work alongside the Communications Manager to develop a comms strategy and calendar for the fall
- Update the VFA blog and website with existing content
- Oversee all recruitment-related social media efforts (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn)
- Proactively identify opportunities to create relevant and interesting content related to VFA
- Fill other communications roles as needed (creating documents, e-mail marketing, and more)
Venture for America Fall Programs Internship

The Programs team act as "Sherpas" helping to guide our Fellows from being newly minted top-college grads to value creation machines at their startups and beyond. They work on our mentor program, Fellow support, job support, skill development, City Liason program, and Fellow Training Camp.

You:
- Ambitious, intuitive, articulate
- Feel there is no task too small
- Are a top notch email, phone, and in-person communicator
- Most importantly: up for any challenge

What you’ll do:
- Assist the programs team with developing top notch ongoing curriculum and development efforts for our 170+ Fellows, as well as our first batch of alumni
- Help with the rollout of our Mentor Platform by engaging with VIP mentors, getting them signed up, and increasing adoption by Fellows and Mentors
- Coordinate logistics for in-city events and help us determine strategy/locations for new events
- Support the Programs team with day to day activities to allow us to provide stellar support for Fellows and our in-city partners
