2014 Bixpo LCWC Workforce Symposium

The Workforce Shift: Local Solutions to Global Issues

September 30, 2014
Embassy Suites Hotel, Loveland, Colorado

CALL FOR SPEAKER PROPOSALS OR NOMINATIONS!

Proposals will be accepted until July 14, 5:00 pm.

Northern Colorado is experiencing a robust recovery from the global recession, and many business leaders are preparing to expand- their business and their workforce.

If you, or someone you know, have approached recruiting, retention, or development in an innovative, adaptable, or creative way, The Larimer County Workforce Center (LCWC) and BizWest Media want to hear from you!

The combined LCWC Symposium and BizWest Bixpo event will offer the business community an opportunity to learn from and collaborate with peers who engage in innovative workforce best practices.

The LCWC and BizWest planning committee is most interested in workforce models and best practices that fall into one of the following four categories:

1. Skill Gaps: Innovative models, partnerships, or strategies that address a “skills gap” in a specific industry or organization. (How are you making sure that your workforce has the specific and current skills you need?)

2. Recruiting: Innovative models, partnerships, or strategies that attract workforce and fill the talent pipeline of an industry or organization. (How do you find the best talent for your open positions, and ensure a full pipeline of talent for your future vacancies?)

3. Retention: Innovative models, best practices, or strategies that ensure the retention and development of current employees within an industry or organization. (How do you keep your best talent? Are you making any post-recession adjustments to the roles and goals of your current employees?)

4. Leadership Development: Innovative models, best practices, or strategies for developing leaders within an industry or organization. (How are you preparing the next generation of leaders at your organization?)

Questions to Guide You:
The Planning Committee will seek a wide variety of models, best practices, and strategies.  Private sector, public sector, and non-profit organization proposals will all be considered. Examples may include;
