GAP Poland Sept 2014 Application

In 2011, Vital Voices and Bank of America came together to develop a signature partnership to accelerate women’s leadership development throughout the world. The Global Ambassadors Program connects extraordinary women leaders for mentorship opportunities.

In each country that hosts a Global Ambassadors Program, we bring together seven to eight Global Ambassadors (mentors) to participate in a week-long program that includes leadership development trainings, one-on-one and group mentoring sessions with seven to eight women leaders (mentees) from around the world who are at a tipping point in terms of their professional, business and leadership paths.

The Global Ambassadors Program in Warsaw, Poland will take place from 8th to 12th September 2014 and will provide us with a unique opportunity to focus on the role that women in Poland, Russia, Ukraine, Georgia, Moldova and Belarus can play in advancing their economies.

APPLICANT (Mentee) SELECTION CRITERIA :
  • Applicants must have the capacity to take advantage of a senior business-minded executive as a mentor (i.e. must be able to develop and implement strategic plans, marketing strategy or business plans).
  • Applicants must have a minimum of 10-20 years of experience in a professional setting.
  • The applicant must have been working in her existing organization / business for at least 5-7 years.
  • The applicant's business / organization should have a minimum annual sales turnover / annual operating budget of at least US$ 250,000.
  • Applicants can be businesswomen, entrepreneurs or social entrepreneurs.
  • Applicants must have a leadership / decision-making role within their company/organization.
  • Applicants are interested in shaping the community dialogue about women’s advancement in their region, and wield the influence necessary to do so.
Please note that this Program is only open to women who are working and residing in Poland, Russia, Ukraine, Georgia, Moldova and Belarus. We are unable to consider applicants from other countries and we are unable to consider applicants who do not meet the criteria listed above.

This application process may take between 2 to 3 hours to complete. Applications should be submitted by Friday 4th July 2014. Any incomplete applications, or any applications received after Friday 4th July 2014 will not be considered.

Program Participation Commitment:

Please indicate below your willingness to commit to program requirements.
1. Successful applicants (mentees) who are accepted to participate in this program will be expected to make a full commitment to the following: *This question is required.
A. Participate in approximately 3 to 4 Program Orientation / Preparation online webinars during the months of mid-July through late August 2014 (a webinar is an online event that will be hosted by Vital Voices and broadcast to the select group of participating mentees through their computers via the Internet) *This question is required.
B. Submit their organization’s business plan or strategic plan to Vital Voices before 22nd August 2014 *This question is required.
C. Participate in the Global Ambassadors Program’s full week of events and activities taking place in Warsaw from Monday 8th through Friday 12th September 2014 *This question is required.
D. Submit quarterly updates to Vital Voices for one full year after participating in the program in Warsaw *This question is required.
E. Remain in contact with Vital Voices after participation in the program in order to share success stories etc *This question is required.
