The Program
The program consists of three elements designed to increase students' interest in the environmental profession and to support them in defining career goals. It will provide the selected student with:
  • $5,000 in tuition scholarship for the following school year.
Eligibility
Candidates for the Brown and Caldwell Scholarship Program must:
  • Be a United States citizen or permanent resident.
  • Be a full-time student enrolled in his/her Junior, Senior year or graduate program at an accredited college/university.
  • Have a declared major in civil, chemical or environmental engineering or one of the environmental sciences (e.g. biology, geology, hydrogeology, ecology).
  • Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent on a 5.0 scale).
  • Be a minority (e.g. African American, Hispanic, Asian or Pacific American or Alaska Native).
Application Process
Candidates must submit:
  • A completed application form.
  • An essay of 250 words or less on "My future career goals in environmental science."
  • Two written recommendations, with at least one from a university official (advisor, professor, etc).
  • An official transcript of your academic record.

In recognition of Dr. Wesley Eckenfelder's many contributions to the environmental profession, Brown and Caldwell offers a $5,000 scholarship for students pursuing education and careers within the environmental industry.
