Official Call for Programs Page | Employer Relations Summit
SoACE Professional Development Committee and the Employer Relations Knowledge Group is hosting the first annual Employer Relations Summit June 24-26, 2015 at Emory University in Atlanta, GA.  This entire event will focus on employer relations!

The Program Committee is looking for current critical topics relevant to Employer Relations. First consideration will be given to programs in the areas of Strategic Models in Employer Relations, Metrics/Data, and Technology.  Our mission is to craft a program that addresses topics pertinent to the needs of career services professionals specializing in employer relations.

What you need to submit:

  • Presenter CVs and Bios
  • Session Title
  • Session Proposal Summary (200 word max)
  • Brief proposal for conference program (75 word max)
  • Learning Objective (at least 1)
SESSION FORMATS
Sessions for the summit can be in one of two formats:
  • Breakout sessions: These two-hour sessions should offer an in-depth exploration of the chosen topic.  The purpose of the two hour session length is to allow time for participants to actively participate through group work, development of plans, or other relevant tangible takeaways. Breakout sessions will take place Thursday, June 25, 2015.
  • Networking roundtables: These 20-minute mini-sessions take place during a 75-minute block. Roundtable sessions let participants dip quickly into up to three topics in an open environment for idea sharing, benchmarking and guided discussion. Roundtable hosts/moderators should be prepared to facilitate discussion and have talking points already established, but not make a formal presentation. Hosts should also be prepared to collect contact information and compile notes to send out to attendees (three sets, one for each 20 minute slot) after the conference. Roundtables take place Thursday, June 25, 2015.
SESSION TOPICS
Topics for any of these formats should address one or more of the needs of Employer Relations professionals. Preference will be given to programs in the areas of Strategic Models in Employer Relations, Metrics/Data, and Technology:
  • Strategic Models: Assessment and strategic models in Employer Relations; how to present your qualitative successes in addition to your quantitative successes; mentoring and developing program and administrative staff members.
  • Metrics/Data:  Database management/CRM technology; implementation and tracking for relationship development sales models; and identifying accountability factors that will impact employer relations professionals.
  • Technology:  LinkedIn best practices; technology best practices panel; resources for international internships; mobile recruiting, social recruiting and virtual technologies; Skype/FaceTime/other remote interviewing tools.
Additional topics to be considered may include:
On boarding new employer relations staff, working with Advancement, employer’s school selections, or employer development versus employer relations.

We very much look forward to receiving your breakout and/or roundtable proposals and we thank you in advance for having the interest and taking the time to submit your program!
