2015 Educator Listening Tour

Thank you for your interest in joining SCORE for a focus group on the state of public education in Tennessee!

Each year the State Collaborative on Reforming Education (SCORE) produces a comprehensive report on Tennessee’s progress to improve student outcomes. This report is grounded in extensive research and feedback from educators and community members across the state. (See last year’s report here). Over the next few months, SCORE will conduct a listening tour with educators across Tennessee to hear about the successes and challenges educators in our state are facing in their school district, as well as what progress has been made on Tennessee's education priorities: embracing high academic standards, cultivating great school and district leaders, ensuring excellent teaching in every classroom, and using data to enhance student learning. These conversations will be used to inform SCORE’s 2015-16 State of Education in Tennessee report.

Eligibility
Due to limited capacity and ensure a meaningful conversation, focus groups will be limited to 15 people or less. Focus groups are open to Tennessee K-12 public education teachers and administrators. Participants selected will represent a wide-range of districts, grade-levels, subject areas, and achievement levels.

Confidentiality
Participant identities will be kept confidential and the information collected during focus groups will be used to inform SCORE’s 2015-16 State of Education in Tennessee report, which will be published at the beginning of 2016. It is our goal to create a safe environment, where we can listen and learn from the practitioners in the field that are doing the important work of preparing all students for college and the workforce.
