Walk to Class Challenge 2015

Welcome!

Thank you for your interest in participating in UCSC’s Second Annual Walk to Class Challenge Day!

Walk to Class Challenge Day will take place on the UC Santa Cruz campus on Tuesday, April 28th to promote walking as a viable and sustainable transportation mode for cross-campus travel, to reduce UCSC’s carbon footprint and to improve individual health.

The idea for the Walk to Class Challenge Day came from students in the Blueprint for a Sustainable Campus and is a student led-effort to promote walking as a healthy and environmentally sustainable way to get around our beautiful campus.  The Campus Sustainability Plan calls for 75% of cross-campus travel to be made by human-powered modes and to engage students in choosing more sustainable modes of transportation.  By participating in this Challenge, you are taking a step in the right direction to help achieve these goals!

Start your registration for Walk To Class Challenge Day now – the first 60 participants will receive an event T-shirt!

On April 28th – Walk to Class Challenge Day – commit to walking to class (or for other cross-campus trips) rather than taking the bus or driving in a car.  You might just find that you enjoy it, that it takes less time than vehicle travel, and you will get a little extra exercise.

At the end of the survey, you will be able to enter a raffle for a $50 VISA gift card by providing your email address.

Every UCSC student is welcome to participate in the movement!
Challenge yourself and challenge your friends to participate!
