Dear participants,

I am looking for a few more participants who are native American English speakers who learned Mandarin in/after college as a foreign language. If you fit in this criterion, please continue. The compensation is USD$10 in the US and NTD$300 in Taiwan.

Thank you,

Dear participants,

Thanks for your interest in participating in this study!
The quota for Taiwanese Americans (who were born in the US or came to the US before age 5) has been reached. I am still looking for participants who are native American English speakers who learned Mandarin in/after college as a foreign language. If you fit in this criterion, please continue. The compensation is USD$10 in the US and NTD$300 in Taiwan.

Thank you,
Chung-yu Chen  (cchen153@illinois.edu)

Hi everyone,

I am a first-year graduate student in Linguistics at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. I am recruiting Taiwanese American (who came to the US before age 5) or US-born Taiwanese who speak/hear Mandarin at home (with/from their Taiwanese parents) and native English speakers who learned Mandarin in college as a foreign language to participate in my study. You must be at least 18 years old to participate in this study.

The online survey will take approximately an hour; the compensation is $10. The  survey includes an English questionnaire, a Chinese judgement task and a Chinese cloze test (multiple choice). If you fit in these criteria, I appreciate it if you can join my study. If you know people who fit in these criteria, please give or forward this information to them.

Your help would be greatly appreciated. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thank you.
Regards,
Chung-yu Chen (cchen153@illinois.edu)
