The Role of State Institutions in Overcoming Anti-Gypsyism in Europe – Potentials in Civic Education and Awareness-Raising
The symposium shall stimulate efforts by state institutions in regard to civic education and awareness-raising against anti-Gypsyism in Europe. It will draw practical ideas from experiences in Germany and other European countries with education about the Holocaust, anti-Semitism and anti-Gypsyism. In doing so, the symposium will explore how creating a collective memory and a sense of political responsibility can help overcome the continuing hatred and attacks against Sinti and Roma in Europe.

Note that we can only cover travel and accommodation costs for a limited number of participants, and each request for support is subject to the organizers' review.
