A 2-year-old girl of Greek descent presented with a 2-month history of bilateral, painless cervical lymphadenopathy; intermittent fever; night sweats; fatigue; and weight loss. There was no history of travel or recent exposure to cats or other pets. Blood work showed mild anemia and leukocytosis with no abnormal cells. Physical examination was remarkable only for cervical lymphadenopathy; liver and spleen were not enlarged. Cardiorespiratory and neurologic exams were normal. Imaging of the chest and abdomen was negative. A biopsy of the cervical node showed abnormal-looking cells.
