Survey about the Teen Pool Party

The Board is asking for feedback from the Summer Village population regarding teen pool parties.

The teen population is growing at Summer Village. The Recreation Committee has been seeking additional outlets for this age group to keep them engaged. They have proposed that there be three teen parties - one at the Family pool, one at the Adult pool, and one at the Beach.

The Committee has asked that the Board allow one of those parties, per season (in August), be held at the adult pool, on a Friday or Saturday evening. The reasons, by the Rec Committee, in favor of allowing the exception are that the Adult pool/deck is smaller, it is deeper than the Family pool, and it is a treat for this age group. Some of the reason's given last year, opposed to allowing it are: it is an adult ammenity, it sets a precedent for allowing minors use of an adult ammenity, and there are enough places that currently exist for mixed use.

This discussion caused much debate last season, so we have decided to seek broader feedback before making our decision at the July Board meeting on Wednesday, July 15th.
