Baby Steps - Preliminary Survey

Welcome to the Baby Steps Preliminary Survey!

The University of Washington Baby Steps Research Team is interested in how technology can help parents keep track of their children’s developmental progress. To investigate that, we are looking for potential participants those who meet the following criteria.

        - Parents of a child between about 7 and 9 months of age
        - Lives in Washington state
        - Can read and write in English
        - Have an access to the Internet
        - Most importantly, interested in participating!

If you participate in our study, you will be asked to respond to about 30 questions asking about your child’s development every 1-3 months. Based on your observations, you will respond with answers such as ‘Yes,’, ‘Sometime,’ ‘Not Yet.’ Every month, we will send a report that summarizes your child’s development reflecting your tracking.

The study will take place over 15 months. We will compensate you for your time and effort based on your level of participation in the study, with a maximum of $170 paid via gift cards. For more details about study participation incentives, contact the lead researcher Hyewon Suh at babystep@uw.edu

If you are interested in participating in our study, please complete this preliminary screener survey to determine if you are eligible. The survey consists of 12 questions and will take approximately 5 minutes. Information you provide here will be stored as study data. However, it will remain confidential and will be kept private to the level required by law. Your participation in this study is fully voluntary, and you are free to refuse to participate or quit the experiment at any time.

After you complete the survey, our research staff will contact you via email to inform you of your eligibility to participate. If you are eligible, we will give you more information about how to enroll in the study.
