Silicon Valley Social Venture Fund (SV2) seeks investment opportunities in early stage for-profit enterprises whose business models generate a positive social or environmental impact, specifically related to education or the environment. We will fund ventures domiciled in and whose activities focus within the United States, and we will make one to three minority investments in amounts ranging from $25,000-$100,000 in seed-stage or Series-A rounds that are raising up to $1.5 million total.
Timeline (approximate):
- Through December '15: Submissions accepted
- January through March '15: Diligence conducted
- Mid-April '16: Investment(s) awarded
What are we looking for?
Eligible businesses should meet the following criteria:
- U.S.-based and focused companies with a clear social mission
- Provides a critical good or service in one or more of the following sectors:
- Impact is integrated within the core business model
- Open to companies both pre- and post-revenue, with an emphasis on early traction and proof points of both user interest and impact
- Seed- to early stage, seeking funding to grow
- Currently raising $100,000 to $1.5 million in funding
