Instructions

This listening test is being used as a form of research for an honours project, the information you provide will be anonymous and no personal information is required. The only thing required for this test is that you be 18 or over, you will be asked to provide your age at the beginning. The results from this test will be used in a study to establish if music improves memory recollection.

In this test you will hear a clip of music while you read a list of words, this will last for 1 minute 30 seconds. The music will then stop and you will be directed to the next section. Here, you will wait a short period of time before you can move on to the next stage. Once the wait time is up you can finish the test, the last part requires you to type every word you can remember from the first section while the same clip of music you heard at the beginning plays again.

It is important that you concentrate when completing this test, you shouldn’t have any other music playing or have anything in the background that might distract you from the test. Before the test starts you will be able to hear a test song so you can set the volume to a comfortable level that suits you, whether you use headphones or not it shouldn’t be too loud.

By continuing with this test, you are consenting to the information you provide being used in this study.
