Budgeting for Outcomes Steering Committee

Budgeting for Outcomes Steering Committee Application

The City of Victor is recruiting citizens to serve on steering teams for the Budgeting for Outcomes process. Budgeting for Outcomes steering team members will help drive the City of Victor budget for Fiscal Year 2017. Team members will brainstorm activities and actions that the City should undertake during the next Fiscal Year, and will create "requests for results" that City staff then respond to.

Budgeting for outcomes is a form of priority based budgeting where spending is linked to overall community results. Instead of the traditional approach to budgeting that begins with last year's budget and is focused on expenditures, the starting point for the budget process becomes setting priorities and establishing the amount of revenue available for achieving those priorities.

Priorities

The budgeting priorities align with the Envision Victor adopted community values:
  • Small Town Feel
  • Connected to Nature
  • Culturally Historic
  • Sustainable
  • Family Friendly
With the addition of:
  • Effective City Hall
Budgeting for Outcomes was instituted as the budgeting process for the City of Victor beginning with Fiscal Year 2015 (FY2015).

Requirements
  • Interest in volunteering your time in service to the City of Victor
  • Interested in proposing ideas for use of City budget
  • Since this process is related to the City of Victor budget, City of Victor residents (i.e. city taxpayers) are given preference for the steering team. However, Area of Impact residents and residents of Teton County at large will also be considered.
